FORSA: AN ENERGY COMPANY WITH A GREAT HISTORY
2011
Forsa Energy (previously known as Velocita Energy Developments) was established in partnership with private equity fund Riverstone. Velocita acquired a 780MW onshore wind development pipeline in France, & acquired the 24MW Maerdy windfarm in the UK.
2012
Velocita merged the UK business with a Scottish developer, 2020 Renewables, adding development skills & a 425MW of the onshore wind development pipeline. Construction of the Maerdy windfarm in the UK commenced.
2013
A construction & operations team was added in France. Maerdy windfarm construction was completed, & construction of the 12MW Ardoch and Over Enoch windfarms started.
2014
Maerdy windfarm sold to Greencoat. Construction of 30MW Month du Lomont windfarm commenced in France.
2015
Ardoch and Over Enoch windfarm construction completed. In France, the Mond du Lomont windfarm was completed and construction of 120MW Rougemont and Vaite windfarm commenced (France’s largest onshore windfarm).
2016
Construction of the 40MW Airies windfarm commenced. Airies, & Ardoch and Over Enoch windfarms sold to NTR. In France, the Monts du Lomont windfarm, & the French onshore wind development pipeline & team were sold to Envision Energy along with rights to the Velocita brand.
2017
Construction of the Airies windfarm was completed for NTR, & the sale of the French business was completed through the sale of the Rougemont and Vaite windfarm to Innergex and Desjardins.
The business was relaunched as Forsa Energy, organised around renewable energy and flexible generation.
2018
Our greenfield flexible generation pipeline was supplemented with the acquisition of a number of flexible reserve gas generation projects in development. Financial close was reached on Pimbo (20.7MW), Bancroft (20.7MW) and Chadderton (20.7MW) flexible generation projects & construction commenced.
2019
£30m junior debt financing line raised for the flexible gas projects. Our pumped storage project was sold, and after executing GBs first commercial onshore wind PPA, we also sold our UK onshore wind development business and project pipeline to BayWa r.e.
Pimbo, & Chadderton construction was completed.
2020
Bancroft project is completed. Financing is raised for Hillhouse (20.7MW) & construction commenced. Forsa Energy is acquired by Tiger Infrastructure Partners. Financing is closed on Hartmoor (49.5MW), Harelaw (20.0MW) and Leven(20.7MW) & construction commences.
2021
The construction of both Hartmoor and Hillhouse projects are complete. Both sites are delivered on time and on budget in spite of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
2022
Harelaw and Leven projects are completed. Financing is raised for the Caledon Green (22.5MW), Carrington (40.5MW), Erskine (20.7MW and Abercorn (20.7MW) & construction commences.
2024
Construction on Abercorn, Erskine and Drumcross is complete, bringing the Forsa operational portfolio up to 298MW across 11 sites.
2023
Caledon Green is completed bringing the Forsa operational portfolio of Flexible Generation to 196MW. Construction on Drumcross commences, bringing the constructon pipeline to a total of 103MW.
