Jon Poley
Chief Operating Officer
Jon joined as Director Gas generation in July 2017. Jon has 30 years of development and operational experience in the international power generation business. Most recently Jon was co-founder of FirstGen UK, developing a portfolio of reserve generator projects in England and Wales.
Prior to that, Jon was with Silver Ridge Power (formerly AES Solar) in various development and country manager roles in Greece and Italy before becoming VP Operations for its 500MW, 50 plant solar PV fleet. In total, Jon spent 15 years with AES Corp working on power generation development, including leading the emissions clean-up retrofit and refinancing of the Kilroot coal/oil power station in Northern Ireland and various project director roles with AES Corp on greenfield gas CCGT development projects across East and West Europe. He started his career with British Gas Power Generation and Amoco Power in Europe, and North and South America. Jon graduated in Production and Operations Management from University of Nottingham, has an MSc in Operational Research from University of Birmingham, and completed Certificate in Corporate Finance at London Business School.
